Claude Kitto (1913-2004)
A depiction of early morning in St.Ives by well known watercolourist Claude Kitto. Fishermen are preparing for the day`s work with the familiar backdrop of the church and town in the background. In excellent condition with new double mount and swept gilt frame. Signed lower right - studio label verso.
Claude Kitto (1913-2004) was born at Fowey, Cornwall. His early training was at the Bath and Gloucester Schools of Art. During the second world war he served with the 2nd Royal Gloucester Hussars. He exhibited with the Royal Institue of Oil Painters, the Royal West of England Academy, Plymouth Art Gallery permanent collection and Harrdos' Art Gallery and had work accepted for the Royal Academy.
