`Henry Charles Jarvis (1867-1955)
Very
nice tranquil watercolour by well listed artist H.C.Jarvis depicting a
hazy Summer`s Day on the river Arun, with cattle grazing on the river
bank. Typical scene by Jarvis who often painted Sussex scenes around the
Arun and its environs. Very good antique Swept frame and new double
ingres mount in antique white.
Henry Charles Jarvis (1867-1955) was a landscape watercolour painter who studied at Goldsmiths
School of Art under Percy Buckmanand Frederick Marriott. Exhibited extensively at the Royal
Academy, Royal Institute and the Royal Watercolour Society. Lived at various times in London,
Sussex and Kent. Exhibited RA 12, RI 3, Abbey Gallery, the Dudley Gallery.
