William Garfit (b.1944-)
`Blakeney Marshes`
A superb Impressionist landscape oil by the traditional modern British artist William Garfit depicting the view across Blakeney marsh. Garfit works in a figurative, yet painterly and expressive style which distils then essence of his native landscape, usually painted `plein air`, and thus very atmospheric. Garfit is now highly regarded and a great investment for the future.
William Garfit trained at Byam Shaw School of drawing and painting, and the Royal Academy Schools; and has exhibited extensively at the RA and the Mall Galleries. Widely represented at private Galleries including the Tryon, Stacey Marks and the Waterhouse Gallery- which is where this example was originally sold. Housed in its original expensive and solid gallery frame with gallery label verso. William Garfit lives and works in his native Cambridgeshire.
